Who we are

maars ("we", "us") is the controller of the personal data collected through this website. Contact: contact@maars.cc.

Data we collect

Contact form

When you fill the contact form at /contact, we collect your first name, name, email, phone number (optional), organization, role, and the message you send us. This is the strict minimum to respond substantively.

Living Framework preferences

If you answer the two onboarding questions ("your role" and "your challenge"), we store your answers in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is used only to personalize the content you see on return visits.

Conversational assistant

If you write to the assistant, on this site or on salime.cc, the content of your messages is sent to Anthropic to produce the answer. We keep your messages on no server: the conversation history lives in your browser's localStorage and the clear button deletes it. Our technical logs record counters only, never the content of your exchanges. Do not write sensitive information there; for a named request, use the contact form.

Private event registration

Private event invitation pages, on salime.cc, collect your first name, last name, e-mail, your phone number if you give one, and the first and last name of the person coming with you. This information is only used to confirm invitations and to hold the door list. Your guest's name reaches us through you: we do not collect it directly and we do not keep it beyond the event.

Server logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard server logs: IP address, user agent, timestamp, and requested URL. These logs are retained 30 days and used for security and debugging only.

Audience measurement

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site traffic in aggregate (page views, traffic source, most-visited pages). These statistics help us improve the site. No targeted advertising, no data resale; IP addresses are not stored in full (Google Analytics anonymization).

Why we process your data

• Respond to your inquiry (legitimate interest).
• Send a follow-up if we judge it useful for the conversation you initiated (legitimate interest). You can opt out at any time.
• Improve the site through aggregated, anonymized insights from server logs.

How long we keep your data

• Contact form submissions: up to 3 years after last contact, then deleted.
• Living Framework preferences: stored locally on your device until you clear it.
• Server logs: 30 days.
• Conversations with the assistant: stored locally on your device until you clear them. Nothing is kept on our side.
• Private event registrations: deleted within a month of the event. A guest's name is deleted as soon as the event ends.

Who sees your data

The data you send us through a form is stored in our internal Baserow database, which we host ourselves on a server located in Germany. No data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Our only subprocessors are:

• Vercel Inc. — hosting provider (USA, with EU data residency).
• IONOS SE — host of the server running our internal database (Germany, EU).
• Google LLC — audience measurement (Google Analytics, USA, standard contractual clauses).
• Anthropic PBC — language model behind the conversational assistant (USA, standard contractual clauses).
• Resend — delivery of transactional e-mails from the forms (USA, standard contractual clauses).

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Object to the processing of your data.
• Port your data to another service.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@maars.cc. We reply within 30 days.

Cookies

We use audience-measurement cookies (Google Analytics 4) to understand site usage in aggregate; you can refuse them through your browser settings. The rest of the local storage we set is strictly functional (your Living Framework preferences), necessary for the features you explicitly interact with.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our data practices change. Material changes will be announced at the top of this page for 30 days.
